The Coffee Cups series origins lie in a series of paintings made in the late 80's about "people whistling". Inspired by the simple gesture of the whistle, the mouth formed in a circle gave way to the circular mouth of the cups. On the canvas Jadraques then creates harmony, balance and anaesthetic that, along with the technique, captures the viewer's attention.
